In All Things Give Thanks

When you give thanks, it shows humility and a willingness to put others before yourself. Many believe that when you are grateful, you give the universe a chance to intercede and work on your behalf which makes it unlikely that you will ever lack.

Give thanks for the good things in your life. Give thanks for the bad things in your life. Give thanks to the people in your life that are close to you and those who aren't so close but still matter to you somehow (it could be a friend or relative). And don't forget to give thanks for everything that exists even if it's something as simple as a wall or chair!

So here’s a list of things to give thanks for. May we know the might of being grateful for what we have and be thankful for what goes on around us. Like it is written, in all things give thanks. I believe in giving thanks and giving thanks for the opportunity to share with you these words of gratitude. And be grateful for health, well-being, family and friends, and the gift of the joy of life.

  • To be thankful for all things, be it life or death, health or sickness.

  • To give thanks to who or whatever you believe in for great and precious promises to us, as well as protection of our lives.

  • To be thankful for friends and family. To be thankful for food and how nourishing it can be when our bodies need it

  • To be thankful for health, particularly our physical health.

  • To be thankful for a spouse and/or family, for good friends, and for people in need.

Why is giving thanks so important?

There are many reasons why it is important to be thankful. First, it creates memories. You can write down your memories, but that's not the same as actually going through them. You might even have a hard time reliving them due to the nature of time. But as you go through your gratitude list, you can expound on the memories. These are the types of memories that you can become more addicted to.

Second, it sets a precedent for the future. As you move forward with your life, you will open yourself up to new opportunities and speak words of respect that you may not have otherwise spoken in the past.

Finally, it keeps you connected to those who helped you along the way. It's always easier to thank those who helped you along the way rather than leaving them blank on your gratitude list. Gratitude doesn't have to be written down. It can also be spoken. But, perhaps more importantly regarding the concept of this blog post, it can be focused on the present. You can make your present focus on giving thanks.

If you are heading into a new year, consider focusing on your present this month or at least every other month. Make your appreciation to those who helped you flourish in the past more than it is to your family, friends, or spouse. It's important to establish this new habit in your life soon because our memories get weaker as we age.

Keep Happy: The fifth and final habit that stood out about high performers to me was that they are happy. They are more willing to spend more time with their family and friends, and they have a more optimistic view of life. Happy people are more engaged in their lives and feel less pressure at work and in their personal lives.

Happiness is not always easy to find, and it seems to be related to how you view life and who is in control of your happiness. When you view your life and what's happening as completely out of your control, you will feel overwhelmed, and subsequently unhappy. This leads me to the concept of control. When you start to feel like you are limited in control of your life, you will start to wonder why you’re not happy.

How Can We Give Thanks, Even in Hard Times?

When is the last time you thanked somebody for what he or she did for you? When is the last time you heard someone thank you for what you did for them? Believe it or not, it’s just not that often that we hear this kind of thing in the Holy Book. Why is that? Because when we give thanks we express the limitless, eternal, and abundant love of God. Therefore, it is absolutely an important thing to give thanks.

Giving thanks is an act of faith. It shows one’s appreciation of God and a dream of how that person can use his or her gifts and talents. When we give thanks, we acknowledge that God is a source of every good thing, and we owe much to Him.

Wrapping Up

As with anything, it is always important to take the time to appreciate and look at the big picture. Sometimes it is easy at the time but is the moment to take time and be thankful for the things in your life, even the small things. With just a little bit of effort, you can see the change in attitude and gratitude that is needed to enjoy your life and the blessings that come with it. Every day is a gift. Sometimes we only see the bad; however, we must always be grateful for all that has already come our way. Keep your head up and remember to have gratitude.
